Photography & Lighting Equipment

The Canon EOS 5D is simply one of the best Digital SLRs ever produced. Containing a full-frame DIGIC II image processor for outstanding quality and performance, it is capable of 3.0 fps for 17 consecutive frames in a burst (RAW format) with a resolution of 12.8 million pixels. Typically I have my EF 24-70mm/f2.8L, EF 70-200mm/f2.8L IS or my EF 85mm/f1.2L coupled with two EOS-5Ds.

Filters are seldom used, but when they are I use either a Singh-Ray LB Warming Polarizer or a Singh-Ray Vari ND neutral density filter. These are simply the best optical filters available.

I carry ten 4 GB Lexar 133x Professional CompactFlash cards and a portble CF-compatible hard drive around with me at all times. This provides me with a very large shooting capacity. The camera and lenses enable me to create spectacular images of impecable (publication) quality.

I prefer to use mainly Norman lighting equipment for the most reproducible high-quality results obtainable. This includes four ML600R radio-controlled monolights, several umbrellas, Bogen-Manfrotto stands, and a variety of Norman professional softboxes and grids for dramatic classical and nouveau lighting effects.

Final image editing is done using Adobe Photoshop CS3 on a Mac Pro Quad Core computer with a high-fidelity 22" RGB monitor that is calibrated regularly using a ColorVision Spyder2 colorimeter. This provides consistent and reproducible "on the mark" high-resolution color digital files.

Finalized digital files are sent to only the most professional of photo labs for printing your finished images. Fine art prints are made exclusively by a master printer highly skilled in the art.
